★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed the one night in the queen room, nice room had everything we needed. Love the Art Deco about the place. Only thing we didn’t like is if your on the north facing side towards the art gallery you will get woken by the 5:30 am traffic and the light does come though the corners of the curtains it will shut out most but not all. But that’s the only downside, if your a heavy sleeper no worries.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great stay. We used the staycation deal and were 100% happy with the stay. Only had small issue with house keeping standard, but room was 99% perfect...only fine detail was lacking (one slipper only, shampoo dispenser empty, coffee machine not cleaned, and wet towels we used not replace dispute asking for room make up). But despite the fine detail, we would book again. Loved our stay.

Close to the shops, bars, and restaurants and across the road from the foreshore. The room was well appointed & comfortable. Ticked all the boxes. Would highly recommend staying here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We spent two nights at the hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room was clean and very comfortable, and met our every need. We loved learning about the history of the hotel and being shown around by a staff member. The staff were all wonderful. We are very happy we chose to stay here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our room was comfortable and everything was clean and well cared for. The service was great and the staff was friendly, but the historic building is the star of the show. I walked around with my camera taking photos of the carpet, the stairwells, the lights, the railings, the doors, the flower pots, the restroom, the bar ... just ... everything. The location is terrific -- across the street from the Art Deco Trust, where walking tours of the city depart from -- and also across from the beach and the spectacular bandshell. The hotel restaurant is good, and we enjoyed the Irish bar on the other side as well. Many other restaurants are located very nearby.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful hotel. We stayed in the Art Deco Studio which was a lovely large room with a door out to the balcony. The room was clean, with great decor. The hotel is perfectly located across the road from the ocean and close to all shops. The Globe restaurant served a delicious breakfast. Be sure to book direct for great little 'add-ons' like free parking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful king size room, comfortable bed & bed linen was superb. Lovely hotel overall with a very pleasant young lady on reception when we booked in. We enjoyed two excellent meals in the emporium restaurant. We also enjoyed the balcony for a quiet after dinner drink.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Masonic has recently been refurbished and it is magnificent. The refurbishment has struck the right balance between preserving the Art Deco style of the hotel and providing top-class, modern facilities. We were utterly charmed by our rooms and the rest of the property.
The staff were attentive and welcoming, and Housekeeping in particular deserve a mention for the immaculate state of the hotel.
The location is perfect, being in the heart of Napier and opposite a stunning sea view.
We can’t recommend the property highly enough and are already looking forward to our next stay.
