★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for a day trip. Escape from Auckland. Lovely views and feel of freedom here. Well kept gates and fences. Big bonus to get fresh water along the trails. Clean toilets at the carpark liked too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A hidden gem on the edge of Auckland the trails are secluded and quiet but great quality and a rare place in New Zealand to find a reserve with managed exotic forest as well as native. A great example of sustainable land use!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful scenery, great easy walks through fields and a forrest. A bit of uphill walking involved. Very few visitors, therefore you will the whole reserve for yourself to enjoy. Make sure to visit the water reservoir.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm tempted not to review this spot. If you love tranquility and a solid afternoons walking, this is a great place to find it not too far from Auckland. The beatifully and practically landscaped farm was gifted to the people of the region by a wise and far sighted Swiss immigrant farmer. I send him a little heavenly thank you on every visit. The campsite is well kept and usually quiet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great campsite with plenty of space, bike tracks both for the family and the lads. Wish there was water access but a short drive to Port Albert to fish on the wharf would be a great option.
