★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Customer service goes along way especially when you are putting your hard working money into a companies business. Tania’s customer service was really extremely rude! I don’t think any customer should deserve this type of attitude to what she had portrayed. The saying “customers are always right” i personally don’t like this saying especially coming from a customer service background myself and my husband.
My husband and I had even mentioned something to the manager after a miss understanding happened. But still there was no reason for Tania to come out with the rude comments to us.
Would not recommended budget rentals.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Horrible woman mid 20’s with ring in her nose at the Domestic a terminal was the worst encounter of car rental service in over 30 countries. She was so band We pulled our rental agreement and went straight next door to Thrifty where the chap and polite demeanour and was excellent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolute scam of a business. We rented a car during the christmas period. We paid the exact amount at the airport. We have then been charged on our credit card the exact amount of the car rental. We rang straight away and were promised it would be in our account within 10 days. It is now February and after 4 calls to customer service with still no resolution. The customer service rep said this is happening a lot. They are stealing from their customers.
Do not rent a car from them. This is the first review I've ever written.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not rent car with Budget Car Rental, especially their Auckland Airport counter.
Absolute cheater!. I rented a car on 27th of March, paid exact amount on the counter, but the credit card transaction showed $43.00 have been over charged, and there is another pending fee of original quote showed on 1st April. Furthermore, they charged me for another $58.30 for the petrol service fees even though I have filled up the petrol at the petrol station nearby before the car returning back to them.
Beware! They are attempting to steal the money from their customers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Refused to accept our debit card without cardholder name, we didnt understand why and no explanation was given, instead the staff were condescending and confrontational, the interaction devolved into hostility and we were asked to leave. We went next door to Europcar who explained the debit card requiremenrs politely and professionally. Will never use Budget Car Rentals again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very frustrated at the difficulty to get my jacket back which I left in the rental car. We called shortly after we had dropped off the keys and were assured they would check and get back to us. We waited 3 days but had no response to our repeated calls - eventually 10 days later they located my jacket and then needed me to post them a bag to return it. I was completely prepared to pay for the return postage but it would have been so much easier and faster if they could have just got a courier bag and charged my credit card the cost of the return. When I did get it back it was screwed up in a ball and looked grubby which it wasn't when I left it in the car - I can only wonder where it was all this time and if one of the staff decided to wear it for a while!

Like trying to put something somewhere and it just won't go.
Staff had no idea what they were doing, which caused us even more delay and inaccurate record keeping caused us more unauthorised charges to our credit card. Trying to sort out with their overseas customer service with frustrating and no result. E - We will never use them again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I checked the reviews just now and I was not surprised. I made a company booking and the lady that assist me just ask for my credit card. Normally, when I am making a booking I was being informed on how they will use the my card, this time the manager that assist me just ask for my credit card. I was under the impression that they already knew me as I often picked up cars from the AKL airport location.
I called budget customer service as I was unhappy the guy that I spoke with explained what happened. All I ask is a GST receipt so I can reimbursed it. I was transferred to the AKL airport budget. I spoke to a lady and all I am asking them to do moving forward is to inform their clients on how they will use the credit card and to send me the GST receipt. The lady that I spoke with put a note and told me that I will receive a call back.
I received a call back from the lady that assist me. She was rude and she told me that I was not nice to her staff. I ask her how? She can't answer and I just told her I don't know how can you say that when all I am asking is a receipt and for everyone to inform their customers on how they are wanting to use the credit card for. I told her that I am unhappy and you're the manager and she told me this exact words, I am the manager and I know everything "YOU DON'T TELL ME HOW TO DO MY JOB" then she hung up on me. If I get the name right it's Lee.
