★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Colenso cafe is a lovely spot to go for lunch on a fine afternoon. Beautiful gardens and orchard where you can while away the time in a relaxed environment. The food options are a little different than the usual fair but excellent none the less. Service is excellent and staff are friendly and helpful. We worth stopping here on your travel around the Coromandel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Possibly the best cafe we've been to on our trips around the country. 100% worth the stop. Incredible food, friendly staff and a very cool atmosphere. Even the books and other items for sale around the place have been expertly curated. Can highly recommend all 3 dishes we had - spiced eggplant salad, caramelized onion and gruyere tart, smoked fish pie. Only sad thing is they won't be open when we head back! We shall return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a lovely oasis! Great coffee, food, and environment. The outdoor seating is extensive, with umbrella'd tables in front and many more seats in back under the arbor. The citrus orchard is lovely. There are a trampoline and climber for kids. Staff was very busy on a holiday weekend but remained friendly, helpful, and patient. Prices are comparable to other local spots (it's not a cheap area) but the food was well worth it. Recommend highly!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great homemade food and a beautiful garden to sit in.
A valuable tip- the staff are very young and although lovely need a lot more training. As my partner and I ate breakfast we watched the staff circle the garden with food searching continuously for the right table.
Also, upon arrival as you enter the main part of the cafe the staff acknowledge you and don’t even give you a menu or point you in the right direction for one or where you can sit. I ended up taking the all day menu and didn’t realise there was a breakfast menu( which was what I was after). I think if the staff better trained this cafe could be incredible!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely worth a stop at this awesome spot. There were a few good vegetarian options, I had a small salad to keep room for their amazing cakes! Their tea for 2 was a very generous pot with loose leaf tea. There's plenty of parking and you're able to keep an eye on your vehicle if you need to :) I noticed that it's also dog friendly. Their shop has some excellent books and Italian treats.
