★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great spot, if you can sit outside. Food is pretty good, particularly from the sharing plates menu, although the ribs from the other menu were scrumptious. Overall, would come again, especially when there is live music.
Recommend booking during the busy season as you definitely want a table outside. Inside is dark and trab and no effort had been put into making it nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My partner and I came here for dinner. Super looking place with great service. The team were well versed in attending to us and light chit chat during us ordering / through the meal to make sure we were happy. Drinks came to our table very quickly. Dinner took a little longer but we came at a busy time. If you’re into social distancing - this team is doing a great job spacing tables out, checking vaccine passes and ensuring that masks are being worn.
The meals were delicious and of a good portion size. We had the prawn tacos, Malaysian curry (curry of the day) and some jalapeño poppers (totally worth it). Flavours were well balanced.
We will definitely be going back. Thanks team for a delightful meal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well people eating out tonite...if u r up in the North...highly recommend u take r detour to the Mangawhai Tavern...top marks to the Chef's...excellent food & presentation...Entree...Battered Oysters, Pork Belly Bites with Peking Sauce, Apple & Asian Pickle...Main Meal...Fish & Chips, Old School Beer Batter, Fresh Fish, Chips & Homemade Tartare Sauce with r side dish of Salad...?...lots of other meals...?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely location, old wooden weatherboard Victorian or colonial style building. Very prompt and efficient service. I noticed a large outdoor area with a stage for bands. Definitely going back to hear a band when they have a gig going.
Food was good pub fare. No complaints. We were a group of 14 and no one had to wait for anything.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great service and even better food. All the meals including the share plates were very generous servings. Everything was cooked to perfection and great flavours. The ribs could have been a bit more saucy but still delicious nonetheless.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have good selection of drinks and munchies food. Best when outside and band playing. Inside is dated and has the usual beer on the floor smell (not overwhelming - just typical public bar). Friendly staff. Saturday morning the place hums with the local market happening.
