ABOUT CLUB

Mt Albert Club is currently under the New Zealand COVID-19 Protection Framework at the ORANGE Traffic Light System.
Everyone will have to wear a mask inside.
Everyone must keep a one meter distance from each other.

WE ASK THAT MEMBERS, STAFF AND VISITORS OBSERVE HAND HYGIENE

Please bring your own drinks and lunches, we are not supplying any food or drinks.

Our Purpose:  
We are a community club providing social and creative opportunities for people with lived experience of mental health issues/tangata whai ora, to grow and heal in a non-clinical, culturally supportive space.  

Our Aspiration for our members:  
That we engage with and are underpinned by Te Tiriti o Waitangi values of inclusiveness, diversity and mana enhancement for all members and their whanau - promoting understanding, respect, self-determination, empowerment, skills development and a sense of belonging and partnership.  

Our Aspiration for Aotearoa New Zealand:  

That Te Tiriti o Waitangi is followed in policy and practice to enable all those with mental health challenges to become equal participants in society andreach their full potential without shame, stigma or fear.

OUR kaupapa is based on the

Manaakitanga
Provide a culturally supportive, safe and respectful social environment, that uplifts a person’s mana. Promote the practices of aroha and āwhina. Showing kindness and hospitality to all members, whanau and visitors.    

Whanaungatanga
Promote and establish strong connections between members, whanau, peers, staff and the wider community. Provide cultural support to members.  

Kotahitanga
Provide a member centred service that promotes empowerment and actively recognises members abilities and strengths. Members collectively participate in the organisation and programme planning.

Wairuatanga
Recognising and supporting people’s spirituality. Provide an holistic approach to well-being that supports members recovery journey.   

Kaitiakitanga
Protect members rights and well-being. Promote guardianship and protection of the environment through our programmes.   

Ako
Experiential learning through creative exploration.

You can self refer by -
Coming to the club during opening hours (8.30am - 3pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) and meeting Karen the coordinator, or
by emailing us at [email protected]
Or by calling us on 027 591 6978.
You can also refer through an ADHB Key worker or Support Worker and you can refer through your GP.
