★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Seen on an Akaroa Harbour dolphin watch cruise. The tour guide pointed out this unusual micro climate area in a sheltered north facing gully that hosts NZ's unique Nikau Palms, these are normally found on the milder and very much wetter West Coast.
