About Omokoroa General Carriers

About Us

Omokoroa General Carriers was previously owned by Brent and John’s Grandfather, Snow Leek. who had the business from around 1961 to 1974. In 1994 John and Brent bought the company back. Upon purchase the company had 2 trucks.

The companies growth is such that new premises were required to carter for the ever expanding customer and transport requirements. The move enables the directors to maintain their personal involvement in the day to day running of the company, ensuring the high level of service that existing and new customers have come to expect.

Had an Omokoroa General Carriers truck pull out in front of me while they were at a stop sign. Footage from dashcam is on youtube. I sent an email to the company but they weren't even bothered to reply. Very disappointing to see such a poor display ethics, from the managers to the drivers.

So I was parked at the lights on a slight incline with one of the Omokoroa carrier trucks in front of me. next thing I know the truck is rolling back towards me and with cars coming up behind me I have no room to reverse. The only option I have is to lean on my horn trying to signal the driver. No luck and the truck rolls into the front of my car. The driver admits fault to me and we exchange contact details so all good you would think. When I called up 'Tony' (the contact at Omokoroa Carriers) he also admitted during the talk that his truck driver had told him he had rolled back into me but also informed me that the company has 'a policy to not accept any liability'. This means I will have to pay the $400 excess out of my own pocket. Poor and unprofessional carry on from these guys.
