★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Renovation costs constantly changed throughout the project. Work was rushed. When queried about workmanship, Quinlan blamed the contractor and said it was not their usual 'go to people'. I was charged incorrectly for materials which Quinlan neglected to check from their subtraders. All pricing always excluded gst (which was confusing) and Quinlan claimed they do that for transparency so customers can see what they don't make??? Building decisions were made without consulting me first, resulting in extra charges. Job stopped several times for their personal matters or issues. I was sent several invoices with different balances using the same invoice numbers. Builders leaving the company to work elsewhere, in the middle of my project. I was billed for 'Plant Equipment' which is a cost I paid to Quinlan, who Quinlan then charged to each employee for using their own tools such measuring lasers, etc on my project???? Range hood switch was placed on the wall approx 10cm above the gas element. Quinlan said this was normal. However, they moved it 20cm away from gas element and said it would not melt??? The hole they were going to leave, and said I should just get a splashback to cover it???? Newly varnished floors were scratched - still needs to be redone. Quinlan promised to cover the costs - no one has contacted me. Project began in October 2020. Deadline was Dec 2020. Currently waiting for completion still in March 2021. As a result I ended the renovations with Quinlan and will complete the reno on my own.
