Te POPO Gardens and Accommodation intend to provide a year-round retreat for our guests to enjoy the many splendours of the beautiful Mount Egmont and the Taranaki region. Each guest will be treated with the kind of attention that is reserved for family. On arrival we want our guests to step into a trouble free world of unforgettable rest and peace, where the sound of the city is replaced with the sound of birds and flowing water.
As we are a rural retreat located 15 minutes out of Stratford we have NO mobile phone reception, however we do provide Free unlimited WiFi in all accommodation rooms. A cooked breakfast can be purchased, for options please discuss with your host at check-in. You may choose to eat in our special guest dining room or have it served in the privacy of your room upon request. We also offer evening meals (must be arrange at time of booking) and have an onsite café with cold drinks, ice creams etc.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It took me awhile to post this, but we can't give good rating on this place. At first the place looks good, but behind close doors is a different story. The owner is full of herself, you can't tell her she is at fault. She is so worried about bad reviews, well here is mine. They just patch things up, curtain railings is about to come off, electric shorts on plugs, stains on sheets, smell of something dead. Hair in bathroom, owner not using proper hygiene in kitchen, A specialy knowing we in a time of covid. She seemed to run around like a headless chicken. The place is hazard and accident wait to happen. On top I happened to over hear how she treats her staff. We couldn't stay even for one night.

I love the African animals scatted through in lifelike scenes (not that I've been to Africa)

The room was very clean, neat and comfortable. Water pressure is also good in the bathroom. There's also a very peaceful atmosphere during the day and at night.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great place to visit and stay over. The rooms are spacious and clean. The garden is awesome and well maintained. The animals are fabulous and make this place unique. The owners are lovely people and are so friendly and open for a chat. We have been there a few times now for murder mystery nights, fund raisers, music nights, lunch and sometimes just to picnic and hang out. Definitely a place I would recommend!
