★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff are friendly but this has to be the worst testing station around for time management. If you’re looking to get a cof, go to Wellington. Seriously, it would be quicker. How the locals put up with it surprises me. Got in line at 9am with 4trucks in front, as well as 4light trucks, they came up to me at 2.30pm to say they won’t get me through today. There was still 4 of those 8 infront of me. How can VTNZ as a company allow this to continue? No other testing station is this slow. You can argue that they’re thorough, but the reality is they’re slow. All they needed to do was say off the bat at 9am, we’re probably not going to get you through today. I would have accepted that and headed to somewhere else like seaview. There is definitely room for competition here. The lady on the desk was apologetic and sincere and I appreciated her for at least trying to apologise, so like I started off, the staff were at least nice. But the manager has a lot to answer for.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To be frank the booking system for our motorhome at VTNZ used to be a nightmare but I was so impressed with the resent changes made. I had booked for a Saturday morning COF expecting to have to wait for an unspecified time only to find no que because VTNZ purposely differed trucks for later in the morning. That's what I call great service. Thanks VTNZ.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Long wait and not exactly cheap, but they do a thorough job and the staff are really nice. I was there with 3 young kids and a staff member produces pens tht write on the windows. The kids had a ball and it made the wait a whole lot easier. If you are not sure your car will pass, this my not be the best option because the mechanics pick up on anything that's not right. Great from a safety point of view.
