★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well laid-out and large model shop with a well-chosen stock, about half railways, mainly UK OO and N, but some US I think, and the other half die cast (about which I know nothing but it looked impressive). Yes the shop really is where Google Earth says it is, by a "farmhouse" across an unguarded level crossing on an unsealed road off the main Queenstown road out of Invercargill. Friendly service. Worth the quick drive out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Would not honour the Consumer Guarantees Act and considers a children's toy which breaks within 2 hours of ordinary use in accordance with the instruction manual is of acceptable quality. That tells me all I need to know about this operator and Hornby products.
