My name is Lizzie, I am a proud Kiwi and grew up by Howick beach. I love spending time with my family and friends, reading, and baking, along with many other interests. I first started teaching in ECE in 2001 whilst studying for my Diploma. I since upgraded to a Bachelor of Teaching ECE in 2011. I enjoy working with all age groups and I believe that the most meaningful learning opportunities occur, when children are given the freedom to explore and discover, through their natural curiosity during play experiences. My goal is to create a positive environment where children are given time and space to explore their individual interests, to share their ideas with others and respect the opinions of their peers. I have been working at Acorn Meadows since the beginning of 2017. I mostly work with our under 2’s. What I really love about Acorn Meadows is that all the children get to know and develop strong bonds with all their teachers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Acorn Meadows has done wonders for my boys. They are caring and family orientated. My now 5yr old and 2yr old have flourished under their care, both children starting at age 4months old. The food is a real high point, they have earned the healthy heart tick, have a wee herb/vege garden, cook all food on site and even let the kids get involved where appropriate. Gatherings for Mother's Day, Father's Day and the hangi at Matariki are other highlights that the boys have loved being a part of - and us!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a wonderful daycare centre. The staff are amazing and so dedicated. I have had children at the centre for 5 years and my youngest is still there. The transition to school programme is very well run and there is always so much to keep the kids interested. Highly recommend.

We have been associated with the centre for five years now and in all that time there has been a very low staff turnover which in itself says a lot about the centre. Highly recommend Acorn Meadows.
