★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really nice arboretum in the middle of Selwyn district. Greendale doesn't have a lot of attractions apart from the golf course but definitely worth the drive. Lots of massive trees (150+ years old) with description of the species. Plenty of walnuts to pick up this time of the year (autumn) plus lots of peace and tranquility (was empty on a Saturday afternoon when we visited). Entrance is free. Well maintained. Toilets nearby in the community center.
