About Anderson park
We have a moral and legal requirement to keep people safe and to meet current legislation. Part of these requirements involve developing a Water Safety Plan that identifies the risks in our water supply and how we manage them. We use chlorine to manage the risks in our supply (mainly the risk of contamination in our network).
Also, the current stance of the newly established drinking water regulator in New Zealand (Taumata Arowai) is that all water supplies must have a residual disinfectant in order to ensure protection of public health. While water supply entities can apply for an exemption to move to a chlorine free supply, they are required to provide evidence to demonstrate that public health will not be compromised. On this basis, PDP and their international partners have developed a pathway for NCC to move towards a chlorine free future through the exemption process outlined in the Water Services Bill. However, this is not a quick fix and there is no option to go back to the way things were.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My daughter (10) loves going to Anderson Park. Our most recent visit was during Easter weekend, it was packed! She was a little intimidated by all the people, but didn't have to wait (or didn't wait long) to have a turn on any equipment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Oh yeah, this park is fun. It's got a nice walking and jogging track, lots of grass to walk on, to relax on. Good rides for kids. I'm an adult and I love to use the swing sometimes. But, the main attraction is the ducks and swans. Amazing ?????

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such an amazing park. I love the water park for the children. The big trees are fantastic for shade out of the hot sun.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best park because there is something for the entire family including the dogs. Walking path for the adults to get some exercise in or brisk walk and sit by the pond observing the ducks, once on the other side of the path dogs are free to play. There is age appropriate sections of the park from smaller children to older. Skate park for, half basketball court as well as a splash pad.
Decent toilet facilities, free bbq and hut with ample seating. There’s a chlorinated water filter towards the scouts hall. Generous parking to.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice park with large open grass fields and a couple of large duck ponds. Shared walking and cycling track around the outside and plenty of parking off Kennedy Road. There is a skatepark, playground and public toilet in the South end by the Auckland Road carpark. There is even a miniature railway in the Southwest corner by the Scout Den. Popular spot to go for a walk or run.
