When we opened our first store in Christchurch in 1995, our dream was to create a true pet superstore that could offer the complete pet experience and help New Zealand be the best pet parents they can be.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had booked our dog in for a groom on the 12th of January. The groomer had to take unforeseen leave and was unable to see our dog (which we can understand happens). We made several contact attempts to Animates grooming and had no luck. Managed to finally get through to the store on the 17th only to be told there would be no available bookings until mid February. There was no attempt from Animates to contact us or to try and rebook in a timely fashion. Another month was not possible or fair on our dog. Upon speaking to the manager it was clear she did not care, there was not even a “sorry” for being unable meet there commitment. She proceeded to then outline there staffing issues they have had for past two years as an excuse. I would thoroughly not recommend using there grooming service as it is highly unreliable.
