★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We approached Andy nearly a year ago, to see whether he could help facilitate with a mortgage pre-approval in NZ. Our case is not necessarily unique but does come with its complications as we live in the UK (with no plans for re-location for the moment), where I’m a British/Canadian citizen and my husband a New Zealand citizen. Andy worked with us over the UK Spring/Summer 2019 to secure a mortgage pre-approval but unfortunately it lapsed as we didn’t find the right property. He kept in touch over the proceeding months to see how our search was going. Fast forward to Feb 2020, when we had a trip planned to NZ and wanted to view a particular property. We reached out to Andy who got the ball rolling again on our pre-approval (which he secured quite quickly) and very happy to report we went unconditionally earlier this week. We would definitely recommend Andy to anyone looking to secure a mortgage, he was very professional, always had additional helpful advice and also plenty of ‘things to watch out for’, which guided us through the process much more seamlessly particularly because we are abroad. He’s always very quick to respond to our emails, even with a 13 hour time difference, and to top it off secured us some very competitive rates. We would highly recommend both Andy and Approved Mortgages.

It had become increasingly difficult to discuss our needs face to face with anyone at our local bank branch and were frustrated that the information we were seeking was not forthcoming. Andy was so easy to talk to, has a vast knowledge of the industry and explained all our options very clearly. He took it all out of our hands and saved us so much valuable time, gaining results for us that we wouldn't have known how to negotiate for ourselves and doing so very efficiently, keeping us updated at every stage of the process. We would most definitely use Andy at Approved Mortgages again in the future.

He talked us through our different lending options, the ins and outs of the buying process, and always made us feel informed and comfortable with the decisions we were making. We were located in Australia and were faced with the tyranny of distance trying to liaise with banks to get a home loan. Andy specifically, was amazing acting on our behalf and finding the most appropriate loan for us. Andy was even able to help us work through the challenges of being an non-resident borrowers.
Andy was able to you his local knowledge to help us get the right appointments in a very short time frame to make sure that we had everything in place for settlement. When faced with settlement, Andy helped us meet a very short timeframe which I feared we were not going to meet.
I recommend Approved Mortgages to anyone looking for a home loan. Andy’s professionalism, attention to detail and can do attitude was what made our application process so successful. He was able to secure us a great deal with the bank considering we were non-residents.
I cannot thank Andy and Approved Mortgages enough and will definitely use them again in our next purchase.

Firstly, I went with a mortgage broker as I knew I would need quite a lot of support and advice due to the fact I’m living abroad. I knew that being overseas would pose some challenges in securing a loan, however the broker was able to assess my current situation and not only find a lender, but secure a great package for me. I was particularly impressed with the patience and attention to detail that Andy gave my application throughout the process. Being a newbie, I had a ton of questions, but he always took the time to clarify things for me which made things a lot less stressful. In short, I’m very happy with the loan package they were able to secure for me and I’d highly recommend anyone looking for finance to get in contact.
