About Armstrong Smarter Security

Armstrong's humble beginnings started in 1980 in a basement in Birkenhead, Auckland with nothing but a Morris 1000 van, a telephone number, an answering service and two founding team members. Birkenhead served as the centre for the company as it grew from one location to another.

To ensure all Armstrong team members are aware of the latest information available in our industry, they continuously upgrade their knowledge and skills by taking part in planned training programmes, which benefits both them and our clients. With a fleet of well-equipped mobile workshops (vans) on the road in the Greater Auckland, Rodney, Wellington, Bay of Plenty, Christchurch, Manawatu, Tasman Bay, Nelson and Palmerston North (Nation-wide coverage) each of which are manned by fully trained locksmiths and are available for immediate contact, Armstrong’s offer our clients fast and fully guaranteed service.

The vans are backed by a growing number of workshops, all of which are strategically placed to provide retail service to nearby clients. Along with these, there is also a fleet of specific electronic security vehicles that focus on installation and servicing electronic security i.e. Alarms, CCTV and Access Control.

They wanted to charge me $477 after hours call out fee to Levin. Daylight robbery. How do you warrant such a rediculous price!?

Went in for a simple key replacement. Had to change the rusted out lock as well. Went after 5pm, no drama really helpful and cheerful with it

What a great job done. The technician arrived a few hours after I lodged the job and knew exactly what I wanted. Completed the job as well as attended to some other issues that I sneaked in after he arrived. Well done, would definitely use again.

In response to your reply; whilst you appear to be apologetic you then go on to assign blame towards me the customer. Yes you are right I did incorrectly state that I needed keys cut not realising that there was no actually locking mechanism - but this does not excuse all of your excuses!! The fact of the matter is, the job was booked in on 3 seperate occasions (this is beyond the initial visit) and each occasion your company failed to contact me, out of curtsy, to inform me that you were not coming- for what ever reason. To remedy the situation an apology that did not assign blame in my direction would have been more appropriate here - poor customer service is just another failure on your part. Ordered a lock in November and it’s now late February, now I understand that there is supply issues but I’ve had to chase Armstrongs for updates for months now and have been given a different story every time I ring. Having dealt with multiple different people each time I’ve rung I’ve been told 3 times now that the lock is in stock - had the job booked in only to have them not show up!!!!! Once again I understand supply issues but on none of these occasions have they had the decency to call me and inform me that the lock hasn’t arrived instead I’ve waited at home for them to arrive like a muppet. Would not recommend and if I could give no stars I would.

Customer service and basic replies need work. Requested a quote. Initially came back quickly and then heard nothing despite following up. Went to another company who sorted it the same day.
