★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had 3 plumbing firms give me suggestions/quotes on how to connect my downstairs bathroom from gas bottle onto the mains hot water pressure. Suggestions ranged from piping from the upstairs hotwater cylinder going through the roof and down the outside of the block work etc. Atkinson & Donaldson (Kelvin himself) came up with the best and most logical idea of hooking up the shower to the hotwater pipe in the laundry next door. Saved a packet as well. The pressure was still very good and it saved filling gas bottles.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If I could give 0 stars I would. Make sure you get a locked in quote before getting these guys to do any work. Apparently it takes 2 workers to unblock a drain and patch a tiny crack in a concrete gully trap. Also charged us for 45 minutes work when the workers were here for only 20 minutes. My husband was home at the time. Rip off artists, and these guys have got the art down to a tee.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a hot cylinder leak and these guys were the first ones available, a young guy came and put a $3 seal on to find it didn't stop the leak, he rang his boss and came back saying it needed to be replaced and it'll be about $2000. All up took about 30 mins. They sent a quote through to replace the exact cylinder $2855.30. We checked out Bunnings and sourced the same cylinder for $900 retail. We got Dalton Plumbing to take old one out and put new one in they charged $257 all up saving us $1698!!! 2 months later A & D Plumbing sent us a bill for $129.95 - $3 sundry, $90 labour fee for an hour, $20 van charge plus GST. Shocked by the invoice I went to see them so they could justify the charge - but they couldn't - they just said that was their fee and apparently the clock starts when they leave their depot. They also couldn't justify the $2855 quote and were ok for me to write a review as "that's their charges". Had to pay them as they threatened debt collection. Unbelievable all round :/
