★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An amazing Lego exhibition is on at the moment and my grandkids loved it. Weird and Wonderful is a fascinating place for young people and is a permanent attraction. The volcano-earthquake house has been updated and well worth the shake up!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really good museum with changing exhibitions. Can get confusing to find your way around. The cafes are both very good with friendly staff. Seating throughout for you to rest on which is good for older family members. War section on level 3 is really well done especially the memorials.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A fantastic place to take the kids to learn about many varied subjects such as animals, birds, pre-historic creatures and much much more. Definitely worth a trip if you want a day out with the family. Free for Aucklanders. Very tidy, well maintained and friendly staff. Give it a good 4 - 5 hours to explore all floors, there are a total of 3.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We love visiting Auckland Museum especially when there is a special exhibition on. Currently it is Sea Monsters. It was very interesting. I particular liked the interactive componants that children were really enjoying. The huge skeletons gave you a great perspective of the true size of these amazing sea creatures from the past. Allow an hour to enjoy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came through for the prehistoric aquatic show. Loads of fun. Interactive and the kid loved it.
Had lunch at the bistro. Nice exhibits and wheelchair/pram access everywhere. Lots of fun and a good way to spend the day. Admittance to the museum is free if you can prove you're a resident (utility bill and photo ID)
The lawns outside are lovely for picnics and relaxation
10/10 would do again
