Our Story

You often read stories of business who came up with their ideas over a couple beers with friends. Not us, you even hear those feel good stories of school mates and best friends who started a company together. Not us either.

Based in Albany on Auckland’s North Shore back in 1994. Barry Lynn started supplying garden centres around New Zealand with half oak wine barrels which provided to be popular, from then he started adding value by turning wine barrels into rain barrels, wine racks, Dog houses and decorating them up with marine varnish, supplying a home delivery service with potting mix,

As demand grew from home brewers for miniature oak barrels Barry searched the globe for the best suppliers which can now be found on the website.

Later on once again born from demand came the wine barrels for Hire which provided to be popular for weddings trade shows etc. Barry also has a range of recycled plastic containers and fittings most of which are food grade.

Nice if you like aged product, but not if your expectation is the look on the website Suggested to Barry that the barrels should be cleaned or a note put on the website to explain the variables. Great product but didn't live up to the advertised expectations I had.

Another had coconut fat in the bottom which had set took some getting out. 1 barrel different from the other 3 also surprised me but was easy to arrange swap. Overall average.
