Bay Audiology phone me at 11.30am on the 25 March 2022 to advise that someone has cancelled their appointment and that my father could have that appointment as requested. I advised that I would have to discuss the matter with my father due to blustery windy and wet day. I advised the caller that I would take 10 minutes to my dads home and that I would ask him if he wanted to take the appointment having that his original appointment is set down for Wednesday 27 April. Previously we did inform the audiology staff should an appointment be cancelled my father would prefer to come in earlier. My dad was happy to take the appointment for today at 1pm. I tried 2xs to contact Bay Audiology to confirm we were coming to the office. I left 2 messages on the answer phone both times. When we arrived at Bay Audiology I explain to the male staff with a pony tail that my dad is reporting for the 1 o'clock appointment. The male staff said that time has been filled and no longer available. I advised the staff member that i was advised the appointment was at 1pm and that i made 2 phone call attempts earlier that went straight to answer phone and no one phoned me back. I also did not like the way the staff member spoke to us, he found the mix up amusing and laughed although my dad and I did not find it amusing at all. My dad took 20 minutes to get ready to go out into the terrible weather across the other side of the city to be told he could not be seen. My father was upset and confused due to the breakdown in communication and not having his appointment after all. We are very disappointed about the way we were treated.
