★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In order to give the most accurate and most informative Google Reviews, I am one of the few Google Reviewers that judges my reviews on the following 6 points.
1.Service; The service is friendly, personable and quick in this Restaurant. They also have a cocktail bar next to the Restaurant where you and your friends and family can enjoy a beer, wine, bubbles or one of their signature cocktails before dinner, or even after dinner. I think the staff went out of their way to make sure my experience was memorable, personable - and due to the time I left, the Bar Manager gave me a lift to my accommodation. Extraordinary care and service in my opinion-and saved me on getting a cab or uber!
2.Coffee/drinks; The cafe'has a wide range of signature cocktails created by the bar staff, I tried the Cosmo, my favourite and also one of the signature cocktails by the staff - all were good and refreshing. I did not have a coffee on this occasion, so I won't rate them on the coffee, just their wine, cocktails etc.
3.Food; I had the roast with vegetables, which was scrumptious, cooked to perfection and delivered within a good time frame. For dessert, I had the apple pie with cream and ice cream -because I was on holiday. This was also delicious, warm and the pie was home-made!
4.Vibe; The diners were all local, and on this occasion, I enjoyed my meal with a friendly elderly local from town, who was dinning alone. The Restaurant has a friendly, welcoming and chilled vibe, servicing the locals and out-of-towners (like me).
5.Cleanliness - all tables were clean, the environment looked well looked after and the amenities that I used were clean and well stocked with supplies etc.
6.Point of difference; The Service, their cocktail menu, their care for the safety and enjoyment of their diners and customers, the food and dessert - Kaitaia is on the map due to this Restaurant.
Based on all of the above points – I give this cute place in a small town in Kaitaia New Zealand a 5 out of 5! I will be back!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a table for three in the evening. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food arrived very fast and was excellent.
The portion sizes were larger than usual for food of such high standard, which we greatly appreciated.
The self serving salad bar was great, too, as everyone was able to create their own starter of choice.
We'll gladly go again in the future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited this spot during my Northland trip. We were welcomed by a very friendly staff. I must say, the interiors are great and the ambience was good. The food was amazing and so was the presentation. We had Oysters which was extremely good! Their Salad table had various salad options. My banana ice cream was also yummy. They also had some decent selection of wines. Would definitely visit this place again in my next Northland trip and would highly recommend! Cheers

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had to wait well over an hour and half for our meals. The fish smelt really fish and tasted disgusting. The chicken was over cooked and dry and the duck was cold. I will not enter these premises again. It use to be our go to place.we decided not to send our food back because we had waited so long to begin with.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had such a great experience at this place! The staff were really friendly and kind from the start. We had a bit of an issue with our meal and they offered us a discount and gave us both free drinks! The food was great and if we're ever back up that way, we'd visit again for sure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was here on my birthday, the restaurant itself is amazing with a complimentary salad bar with your purchase. The staff were friendly and very helpful as we got there just before closing.
The food was basic mainly cause I opted for vegetarian dishes but I'm sure the seafood and non-vegetarian options were good. Also the dishes came out a bit salty maybe cause its a mixture of bar food.
4 stars because towards clearing the table the waiting staff who attended us was a bit rude, she obviously didn't understand us when we politely turned away the dessert menu..she assertively asked "say yes or no" which kinda shocked us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was my first visit to Beachcomber Restaurant & we were not dissapointed. We were greeted with a warm & friendly smile by the lovely lady at reception. The staff were very friendly, the food arrived fast and was delicious. The food portions were good sizes. The self serving salad bar is great, as you can create your own starter of choice.
Enough space for parking.
A place for the whole family to enjoy!
Wheelchair Friendly.
Beer On Tap.
WiFi available upon request.
