BestStart Onehunga is a beautiful childcare centre near the suburbs of One Tree Hill, Royal Oak and Onehunga. We provide a home-like environment based on respect and strive to develop a sense of belonging for our children.
About BestStart Onehunga
We are a New Zealand-owned charity with preschools, kindergarten (kindy), Montessori and early-childhood home-based services nationwide.
BestStart has over 260 early childhood centres from Whangarei to Invercargill. All our centres use the New Zealand curriculum Te WhΔriki, preparing children for their formal education at school. Our trained teachers support children to belong, thrive and achieve through the world-recognised philosophy of learning through play.
Our commitment to every parent ensures every child is cared for and supported in a warm, friendly and positive environment. We have excellent staff-to-child ratios, with qualified and caring teachers, quality equipment, toys and a safe and attractive learning environment.

β β β β β This place is a real gem and I am completely content and secure knowing my small child is in the care of the wonderful staff here. The staff are genuinely kind and committed, relaxed and friendly. Every single time I enter I am greeted with smiles even after a long day for many of the staff. All the staff learned my daughters name within days so greetings and farewells felt personal. The carers (especially Tess) in the baby section are incredibly loving. The babies always look relaxed and at ease. I appreciate the te reo elements and multiculturalism of this space. ECE in my opinion should be about loving care and attention, safe space to play imaginatively and run by a group of dedicated and friendly people who genuinely love kids. Best Start Onehunga is all of the above. Special mentions to amazing team leader Flo and chef Ghia ?

The staff are very friendly, its great just being greeted with such a warm greeting I leave feeling positive.
