Kia ora, Kia orana , Talofa lava,Ni Hao I have been blessed to be a teacher at Big Hugz since it opened in 2010 working alongside some great teachers and a manager who had a vision and made it come true. Big Hugz is a multi cultural environment where all cultures are embraced, children and their whanau are loved and nurtured and a passion for learning is encouraged and supported.

Free lunch for all children, everyday. Well resourced. Centre is well looked after and always updating. 30hrs FREE ECE. Amazing and Kind Teachers.

My son has been at Big Hugz since he was a baby and he has loved every minute of it and so have I as a parent. One of the many things I noticed when I first enrolled my son was the amazing management that was in place. Yvonne is amazing with her staff and my son loves all his teachers (especially whaea Joe) and the way the centre is run is way beyond the usual standard, it’s done magnificently. The staff/teachers/management go out of their way for the kids all the time to make sure that they get as much learning (theory and practical) as they can. The centre is so diverse and that was one of the many reasons why I first enquired about it when my son was a baby because of the cultural diversity and the centre management/staff definitely embrace this. All staff members are always fully qualified and supervised by management and so bubbly too. The quality standard of the centre is beyond what I could’ve imagined for my little boy (which is what makes it so amazing because it challenges my mindset as a parent). The staff/management are always eager to get involved with different events/activities and involving parents to participate with their children’s learning and this shows with the one-on-one parent interviewing system which communicates the progress of participation with everyone involved. This is also shown with the different progress stages your child is at in their learning with the different activity/portfolio updates on the walls every month. I’m so amazed at the work/effort that all the management/staff put in for my little boy and it definitely doesn’t go unnoticed. Thank you Yvonne for your amazing work ethics/management skills. Thank you Whaea Joe and the rest of the term for your guys amazing efforts as well and also a big shout to the chef/Yvonne for making delicious/nutritious food that my son absolutely loves and tells me all about when he gets home. This centre is such a lovely place. All staff have the children's best interests at heart and work above and beyond to provide quality learning, based on the interests of the children. Children are always happy and engaged and the parents are constantly commenting on the high quality of the centre. Children are always wanting to learn more, which the staff happily accommodate. This is evident through interactions, wall displays and happy engaged children.

Yvonne and the Team at Big Hugz Early Leaning Centre in Hillcrest Hamilton are absolutely amazing. I have had my child in their care for over two years now and I am amazed at commitment on making education fun for my little one. Give them a call to give you a tour around the centre. Big Hugs is a caring, educational, well-organised, clean & happy place! They do more for my child than I would ever expect a daycare to do. He comes home fed, exercised, more knowledgeable and with lots of stories about what he did with his friends. I can highly recommend Big Hugz!!

It’s a very good daycare centre! The teachers are fantastic and they have 30 hours free ECE. They have so many good resources and fun activities for the children, they even have TOPA( talents of pacific talents) every Friday.

Big Hugz is such a loving and caring environment and I highly recommend it to Hamilton families ?. It is so lovely to see the kids walking in and out with huge smiles on their faces and with happy laughter ? Staff are lovely and always ensure parents are updated with their child's day and learning. You can really see from them daily, the love and excitement they have for the children, their wellbeing and their learning.
