β β β β β Bridge road is only open from the east side so check google maps has the correct directions. Short easy walk to the dam, then a steep run if you want some exercise. Better to have hiking shoes for coming down the hill.

β β β β β Get you adrenaline kicked off on the bouncy treetop suspension bridge, then relax as you stroll through a meandering bush walk. (Up the pace to kill those Christmas kilos!) After about 30 minutes walk we reached the dam. Having checked it out and taken the mandatory pics, we returned the same way we came, but I understand there are more serious tracks to points unknown beyond the dam. We are in our 70's, and not particularly fit... the walk we did was not overly taxing, and very enjoyable. TIP: Much of the walk is under thick bush canopy, and can be chilly; take a jacket.

β β β β β Easy, entry level stroll through native bush to the dam and back. If you choose to extend the walk up to Cannons Point there is a Steep section from the dam up the hill. This has 2 seats placed a good intervals on the way up. From there it's a gentle incline walk past pine forests up to Cannons Point trig where you will have stunning views across the entire Hutt Valley, over the Harbour to Wellington.

β β β β β It was an amazing walk at such a peaceful and beautiful place. You can spot native plants and insects as well as hearing the different bird species fly over as you past the flowing river. Absolutely breathtaking!

β β β β β Amazing place for bush walk with a stunning Dam view. Great place for photography. Running Water streams make everything beautiful with splashing sounds at background.

β β β β β Good walk for the family (even for an unfit adult holding an umbrella with a 7month old in a front carry pack! Lol)
Track is quite sheltered and wasnt too muddy after the rain today, so a small group of us went out for our first time to go and see the dam overflowing. Worth the short walk.
Swing bridge at start is very bouncy! Lots of normal bridges along the route to keep the young ones interested. Track is mostly flat, and any inclines were very slight.
