Join us this winter in keeping your feet well and healthy. We’ll be posting a few handy little tips throughout winter to help you keep your feet working at their best. Lets start by talking about chilblains. Chilblains are tender or itchy bumps usually on tips of toes or fingertips which come as a result of exposure to damp or cold conditions which then causes the blood vessels to become inflamed. So, what can I do to help? Well we've got you covered. Here at Boyce we’ve put our heads together to bring you the best tips. ? Vicks Vaporub – the most common complaint of people susceptible to chilblains are how cold their feet get. Rubbing Vicks Vaporub on your feet – particularly in the morning and at night – this will help bring warmth to your toes. ? Don't put direct sources of heat i.e. heat packs or hot water bottles straight onto your feet – start by heating them slowly with Vicks, socks and slippers. Try not to go from cold to hot quickly as this can be painful. Choose your choice of sock carefully. Wool is generally best due to its ability to control moisture while keeping your feet nice and warm.
