Our HistoryOn the 23rd November 2015, Shane and Jenny Hansen became the new directors of Brew Your Own Liquor (2015) Ltd.
Did you know that all 50 states in the USA have now legalized home brewing? As of 1978, all states but Alabama and Mississippi were able to legally home brew. On the 9th of May 2013, these two states joined the rest of their country after the Governor signed the bill. However, there is an odd catch. Not all states are allowed to take home the brew they make – they must consume it on the premises where the batches were created.
In New Zealand there are no such laws – if you make it, you can take it with you. That’s where we come in. Shane started brewing his own spirits in 2003 after discovering his passion while living in Christchurch. In the last few years, he has successfully tried his hand in brewing beer and wine, although spirit making remains his area of expertise.
