New Zealand does historical sites well. This site is well preserved, with well maintained paths and information boards. It's right on the side of the road so no excuse not to stop if you haven't been here before.

Awesome information overload. Shame preservation didn't start earlier.

Well worth a visit. A great monument to those who have lost their lives, including those at Pike River. Allow about an hour to walk around and view'everything.

Stumbled upon this well organized historical site. Really top notch. They rebuilt a historical bridge along a coal and clay mine/coke and brick factory. Really recommend a stop to stretch the legs. Easy walk. Steep for wheelchairs but accessible.

Great stop off for some history, fantastic views, memory plaques. One spit triggers a story telling - wasnt expecting that. Walk across the other side via the suspension looking bridge. Allow an hour. Decent parking. Toilets.

Stunning views, beautiful short walks, full of history. We stopped on our way home from holiday along Taylorville Road.

What a neat place to stop for a short loop walk around Brunner Mune Historic Area. Lots of informative signs about the history around the track. Beautiful scenery and interesting old historic sights to marvel at. There's a place near the water's edge for some great photos, but the rocks can be slippery when wet
