★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Difficult to believe that we had the entire 70 seat place to ourselves when we came for dinner last night. The yummy cocktails to the incredible fluffy Naan bread and amazing tasty food blew us away... no idea why Wanganui doesn't all eat here as it was amazing and it's my fave indian in Wanganui. Great staff and stunning meals. 5/5

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took my mother and elderly aunty to The Castle this week. It holds great memories as my grandfather built the restaurant along time ago.
We were very interested to see how it had been updated and the new cuisine. The decor is a great mix of the original castle with a fusion of influence from India, delightful.
The service team was well balanced and very helpful.
It was a bit of a risk to take Mum and Aunty to their first Indian meal, however it turned out perfectly, and they will return. We had a lovely mix of korma, buttered chicken, a very popular blue cheese naan.
It was a well priced menu making for a reasonably priced night out.
I highly recommend a visit to The Castle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ this place really surprised me. The wood was amazing, maybe the best Indian I've had with really different dishes on offer. The cocktails too take on some Indian influence and are great, with quick friendly service to boot, highly recommend. Once they modernize the decour this place will be singing.

Fantastic helpful staff.
We particularly loved the fusion between medieval and Indian decor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have dined in twice and had take away once. The food is amazing!! The castle theme is super fun and different. My favourite part was the garlic naan bread. I will be back soon .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Having tried about 90% of the Indian restaurants in NZ. This ranks in my top 2, with Oh Calcutta in Auckland being number 1.
The food and service were exceptional. The Tandoori lamb chops were sublime. I eat my curry Indian hot, and rarely get it as hot as I ask. I ordered a chicken Madras Indian hot, and it was fantastic.
I cannot give any higher recommendations for this restaurant. Thanks Jas for introducing me to it, and will definitely visit again.
