Chris first started his glazing career in 1985. His qualifications include New Zealand Trade Certificate in Flat Glass Working. He has worked both locally and internationally for various glass companies before starting Chris Smith Glass out of a garage in April 1993.
Marian runs administration at Chris Smith Glass joining in April 1993. She has over 15 years banking experience and over 20 years in business with Chris.

During the 2017/2018 summer the team from Chris Smith Glass replaced the original glass windows in our bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen with Retro Double Glazing. The original timber window frames were retained so the look of the house has not changed.
We have lived with the double glazing through summer and autumn and now the frosty winter. We have been able to reduce the temperature on the heat pump during the colder days and nights and very rarely needed to use it at all for cooling through the summer. There is still some condensation on the bedroom windows but it is much less than before. The north facing windows in the lounge and dining room have not been double glazed and there is more condensation on these windows on cold mornings.
The double glazing in the east facing kitchen is in aluminium framing and there is more condensation on the aluminium than on the glass on cold mornings.
Since the double glazing was fitted we do not hear as much external noise in the bedrooms as we were used to hearing.
We were very happy with the whole process and are happy to recommend this Retro Double Glazing to anyone.

β β β β β Our vehicle had to have its front wind shield replaced due to a stone chip.
The workmanship is the worst i have ever seen! Seals haven't been stuck down properly and are still sticking up, not only this but they have torn part of it is well. When we took it back for them to take photos for it to be redone the lady didn't apologise about the poor quality of work nor did she seem even a little interested! Will not be going back and would not recommend!

β β β β β We needed to get a number of windows replaced and the team from Chris Smith Glass were fantastic. Cam and Luke turned up with great attitudes and did a fantastic job. They were even happy to give us tips for puttying the remainder of our windows which was really appreciated. They cleaned up well and left us feeling very happy with a job well done. Happy to recommend Chris Smith Glass to anyone needing glazier work in Rotorua.

β β β β β We couldn't be happier with the experience working with Chris Smith Glass Professionals. We have a 1920s villa and made the decision to upgrade and replace all our windows and doors with retrofit double glazing using the original timber window frames. We were very apprehensive as we still wanted to keep the character. Wow! best decision ever! You wouldnβt even know we had double glazing. The experience was so pleasant thanks to our two professional installers: Rob and Dylan!! Two of the hardest workers with incredible eye to detail, professional, very knowledgeable and a pure joy to be around! Chris Smith Glass are very lucky to have these two professionals on their staff. I feel a fishing trip or a bonus is in order for these two lol.

β β β β β Had an insurance claim for a broken window for my rental property. Chris Smith engaged quickly with myself however, they entered my rental property and repaired window without contacting my Tennant to arrange a time etc. My Tennant wasn't even home they just came and entered property. My tennants at the very least deserved the courtesy of a phone call as she had older children home too who had a stranger fixing a window to deal with. Very unhappy about this lack of communication.
