★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Intercity. What incredibly low standards of customer service. I was catching a long distance bus ride and ended up at the wrong stop somehow, most likely the result of my recent traumatic brain injury. After 15-20 minutes I gave them a call in which I was told that the bus had left WITHOUT any communication whatsoever. Even the office was having trouble CONTACTING the driver. When asked if I could jump in an empty seat on a later bus I was told I would have to pay another FULL FARE. It was evident that there were spare seats on this day due to extra buses running. Given that Intercity has brought out Nakedbus, driven up prices because they are now playing a commercial Monopoly game, a little piece of humanity would have gone a long way in this situation.
Instead, I owe my heartfelt thanks to the citizens of NZ who I hitchhiked with.
The price I paid for that fare was above and beyond what would be expected as reasonable standards for quality service and customer appreciation.
Will not be using this company again until compensation is received.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ just tried to catch the buss from Christchurch to Dunedun.
we got to the buss stop but when they said they were leaving but they were already pulling out and wouldn't even wait 1 minute. they then said we had better race 20km across town to hornby where they would give us five minutes. we did but they went there. they have refused us a refund or even a discount. very rude. get a bus from another company if you can. Even airlines are more reasonable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I travelled from Dunedin to Rolleston on 29th with Stuart as our driver from Waikouaiti. My 5 year old grandson, myself and I'm sure all the passengers learnt heaps from his very informative commentary on the history, geography and economics of the districts we travelled through. Thank you Stuart.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took an Intercity bus from Christchurch to Dunedin. The driver, Lynda, was very pleasant and drove smoothly and safely. I enjoyed seeing all the lovely scenery.
Unfortunately one passenger didn't return on time after a scheduled break. Lynda handled it with aplomb by waiting a sufficient period of time then carrying on to ensure the rest of us weren't too inconvenienced.
Only downside was the tearooms in Oamaru which didn't have many gluten free options

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Took the Intercity bus from Christchurch to Mt Cook - driver was very nice and provided great commentary throughout the drive. We even made a few stops for photos at particularly scenic locations. Felt more like a tour bus than a regular city bus! My luggage was handled with care and I got to my destination relatively on time!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Road closed once I was on the way to Kaikoura. Intercity refunded most of the ticket but left me stranded on the edge of the city.
Absolutely appaled by the terrible service and lack of any remedy. Taxi ride home was also at my own expense.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I make the journey between Christchurch and Dunedin several times a year. Some of their drivers are rude to passengers one in particular. I do not know why they publish a timetable as they are usually late leaving and they are always late on arriving. I have had at least two trips in three years where the bus broke down.
