★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I hope the teens from the farming community there don't ruin this otherwise beautiful and relaxing space for everyone else. The fact that their parents know and accompany them sometimes makes you wonder, do they even respect this place at all. In their own back yard. Every time the bikes and 4 wheel drives fly up and down that river bed, they are damaging absolutely everything about the eco system there. Do they just want us freedom campers gone. I don't abuse the rules and overstay as some are quite obviously doing. They have now been there for much longer than three months. They need to be moved on. They are giving the place a bad feeling in my view.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed 3nights . Acres of parking . Coes Ford Recreation is spread over 3 areas . Lovely clean toilets on each site, and rubbish skips. With a clean, safe swimming stream running along side the boundaries

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved it out here!!Clean toilets. The only thing is you have to make sure you bring your own water as the water there is not potable but you can go to Leeston and refill up at the fire station or download the app refill N.Z and use the locations available for drinking water. Also no showers but the freshwater creek is awesome lol ....suitable for kids as water is shallow. Definately go back there again.
