Craig and his crew completed a home for us in 2014. We could not be more pleased with the quality, service, communication and advise. The building industry is riddled with horror stories, but our experience with Craig could not have been better. A top job at a fair price, on time (and no hidden costs). The beach home we purchased in Langs beach in early 2015 needed to be re-clad and renovated, but because we lived two hours away, we didn't have any builder contacts. Also, we led busy lives so we knew we needed a builder in whom we could place a huge amount of trust. After asking around we arranged a meeting with Craig from Craig Cogan Builders, because they had invaluable experience in these types of jobs. Together with their Architect, Adam from Maxar Ltd, we roughed out a brief, a budget and a time frame for the job. Once we had approved the Architect's concept plans, and before going to full working drawings, Craig gave us a rough, but detailed, estimate to confirm that the concepts were within our budget. Then, upon receiving full working drawings the estimate was revised and various parts of the job were either quoted or estimated depending on complexity. From then onwards the Craig Cogan Builders handy online build program enabled us to make decisions and communicate with his professional team of builders and sub contractors directly from our home and offices. It also kept us up to date with weekly photo's & schedule of how the job was progressing. We really noticed how being able to communicate with Craig and get questions & decisions in a timely manner improved the efficiency of this build over previous ones. It also kept us updated on the budget. The job finished a month earlier than schedule and we were thrilled with the workmanship and professional standard of all the team involved. We have been building for a few years now and since doing our last build with Craig Cogan builder the bar has probably been set to a level that most will not achieve. The whole process was faultless. The systems that are in place make it hard to drop the ball. Craig made us feel as though we were the only build he had on, he was thorough from start to finish and this was greatly appreciated since we live some distance away. The site was the cleanest site I’ve been too and his team were second to nun very helpful and went over and above. Thanks to Craig and his team it was a very enjoyable process and love the finished product.

I recently moved back to New Zealand after being away for over 20 years with my overseas partner to build our dream home. Craig was already our choice of builder as I have known him for many years and know of his quality builds and extensive experience. Craig and his team are professional, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. It was our first time building and we were cautious about placing so much trust in someone, especially when you hear some horror stories from others who have built. Craig gave us so much of his time and knowledge even before we signed a contract. Craig is a very good listener and nothing was too big to small to discuss. His team were driven to get the project completed on schedule, on budget, and to the highest quality possible. We enjoyed working with the whole team and appreciated having a local builder for our project. I can't fault Craig Cogan Builders and no-one else I've spoken to can fault them either.

If you are thinking of building, Craig Cogan Builder is reputedly the best in the area. At first we were a little reluctant to build with an independent builder, however after our initial meeting with Craig he gave us confidence he would support us through the process (especially since this was our first home) and he was very honest about costs, timing, quality etc.. In no way did we feel pressured to build with Craig Cogan Builder. We walked away from our initial meeting feeling he was sincere and transparent. To reassure us, he gave us a list of all the clients he had previously built for and advised we could contact any one on the list for a referee. We did, and of course we were very pleased with the feedback we received. The best thing we found through the whole process was the Co Construct app that anyone involved in the build could use, therefore there was no room for miscommunication, your schedule was on hand, your actual finances were on hand, you knew what costs were due next, and weekly photos were provided, it was absolutely brilliant. If we had any concerns Craig and Nick (Project Manager) were only a call or text away (same day response). If the online system says the plumber will be there next week, they will be there next week. The system ensures everyone is on schedule. In fact we were advised the build would take 6 months and we actually moved in a week ahead of schedule. How often does this happen? Not only that, once we had moved in, if we did have any issues or concerns after we had settled, again all we had to do was call Craig and let him know. We did have issues with our toilets, but with no hassle at all the supplier and plumber were out there to sort. We could not fault the workmanship on our build, true professionalism!! Additionally, the sub contractors Craig Cogan Builder uses are also excellent. They are punctual, professional and also provide a high quality of work. The most challenging part of the process was staying within budget, and yes when dealing with an independent builder you can have too many choices but Craig worked with us to remain within the budget. Obviously you will go slightly over but that was not because of Craig and his team, that was because of my additional wants (maybe not needs). We cannot thank you enough Craig, Nick and the team for making our dreams come true and for making this process as easy as it was. People often ask us whether we were happy with the build. In response, we state categorically that we are absolutely ecstatic and are grateful that we choose Craig Cogan Builder. As a testament we would do it all again Craig, thanks mate.

They use an excellent programme that shows what is happening and when, with pricing and variations showing what financial changes might alter through the build process - both refunds and new expenses through your own changing requirements. Very co-operative and keep you posted with progress photos. So far, my best build / construction event to date.

As we were very particular in engaging the best local builder in Bream Bay district for our new build on the canal system at Marsden Cove it was a top priority that we chose a builder who specialised in bespoke builds. Our inquiries immediately led us to Cogan Custom Homes as they were highly recommended from numerous conversations we had with local people throughout the area. Our new build plans were submitted and we worked through these with Craig, the entire design and build process was a pleasure to be involved with as we were kept up to speed with every detail along the way, hence there were no surprises and we are thrilled with the end result.
