Extremely slow, repeatedly unprofessional, just an all-round terrible experience. Wish I'd never worked with MoistureMaster.

We did some research on HRV, SimX, DVS, SmartVent and MoistureMaster and decided to go local with MoistureMaster. A lot of these systems are the same, it's a heat exchanger, controller, fans, ducting and vent outlets. MoistureMaster use a decent branded German import and have their own digital controller and control panel units that they've had customised / made. They're basic but do the job. You don't get sales or filter calls, upselling or any pushy salesman. You just get Paul, his son Edward and the Team. Paul is old school, if you want the best service ring him. He's not prompt on emails and takes a while to reply, nothing against this, just letting you know don't expect immediate email replies. Edward his son is better on the digital front. We had our whole house done in March 2021, 7 outlets added to rooms throughout the 4 bedroom house and one intake in the kitchen (near our heatpump & fire). We got the inline heater boost option as well. Things to note when you're planning it: * Locate the fresh air intake somewhere that suits and ideally is away from the most smells. i.e. You will get log burner smell from neighbours so maybe choose a spot further away from your neighbours chimney etc... We added a 2nd carbon filter and this helped get rid of the fireplace smell. * Locate the exhaust air intake somewhere where you don't notice it, ours is right above the backdoor, probably not the best spot. * Make sure you're room outlets aren't above spots where you're going to be sitting or lying still, i.e. the couch or a bed. Go for corners of the room. * It is not a heating system, it is mixing cold air in with your existing house air and recovering what it can. If you don't have any heating on, this will just make you're house colder. You need to have some form of heating running in Winter. We either have the heatpump on 19 or the fire going. * The Heat exchanger makes noise, it has 2 sets of fans and if you have a thin layer of insulation in your roof space you'll hear it. Get it put above somewhere where this isn't going to bother anyone. Overall we're very happy with the service and installation, we had some tweaks done and nothing was an issue, upped the extraction fan in the bathroom to something stronger and that helped straight away. Condensation wise, it's about 98% better house wide. No more wet windows, doors and frames on your standard Winter night. We have 1st gen double glazing from about 2002, a pretty airtight house & it condensates badly. There's still the odd morning during extreme moisture generating conditions (-5 out and 20 in) when the very bottom of a glass door and the window framing is a little damp but nothing like it used to be. This is pretty standard with any system. We run it on 2 in winter and 1 in summer, we could go up to 3 in winter but haven't yet.
