★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Peaceful place with huge area to find your personal spot away from other people - beautiful combination of black sand and green lawns.
2 bbq under gazebos to use and lots of picnic tables, clean and decent size changing rooms, toilets, outdoors showers and a drinking fountain
Lots of parking area.
You can meet pīwakawaka, different types of seagulls, ducks, kākārikis, tōreas, tūīs and tauhou almost every time you come there

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Easy access, great swimming beach for the little ones, best at high tide. Changing rooms, toilets are kept to a good standard. Large BBQ areas too for big groups but I think might have to be booked via a DOC website?

Flush toilets & 2 free bbq's to use. Nicer to swim at high tide, safer for kids!
