★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed in this home for a month. It was an OK stay, but we were bothered by a few things.
It was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the comfortable bed, large TV, the bathtub, and the fireplace. We also liked the location in a quiet neighborhood, and the outdoor space.
But...one thing was unusual about this house and it made our stay much less pleasant. The house is listed to rent as “entire place” with 2 bedrooms out of three available, but when we arrived, we discovered that the spacious and modern looking kitchen that we were attracted to on the online photos was mostly unusable space because most of the kitchen cabinets were locked. We had adequate dishes and silverware, but only minimal cookware that made it difficult sometimes to cook our own meals. We were always wondering while making breakfast or dinner if what we needed was locked away somewhere. We also had to store all of our food on shelves out in the open, and we got tired of the clutter in the kitchen. The bathroom storage cabinets under the sinks had locks on them, too. We complained to the owner, and she did unlock those bathroom cabinets for us, at least.
This is a fairly nice home, but we have never stayed in any AirBnB house that had locks on most of the cabinets. This was very strange to us and we felt restricted living here, but the owner seemed unconcerned and unapologetic. We wouldn’t stay in this home again and would not recommend it to our friends for this reason.
