★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Countdown is one of the cheapest supermarket with their online shopping facilities. Great service inside the store and the variety of products is great. Some items are cheaper than other supermarkets and vise versa.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Large Countdown supermarket. But doesn't seem to have their stock management or supply chain sorted. Of a number of times I've driven there to get specific items on Special, I have never once got what I wanted, it was always out of stock. Happened again today. All the other Countdowns I've been to may run out of Specials occasionally, but I've never been consistently disappointed. This Countdown store just doesn't feel as well run as the others I go to. I won't bother in future.
Update: Thought I'd try again, 10 months since my last visit. Wanted to get some dishwashing tablets on special, surprise...Out of stock again

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Started off ok but became very disappointing very fast. Red wine section empty no staff around to ask for help. Lots of gaps on the shelves in grocery area... before everyone says covid and shortages the lines on my list were on the shelves at the PNS across the road. Not enough check outs open they relied on self service check outs which is no good when you have big / heavy items and only 2 manned check outs. Jus wanted to get out of there fast. So was not until we got back to where we were staying that we checked the receipt to find out we were over charged on 2 frozen items? $3 over and $2 over.. will avoid at all cost

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great experience in store. But god help you if you ring in with a query. That's when holes start to show in customer service ,as in communication and efficiency. It starts at the top. Tawa and Aotea countdowns blitz them in comparison.The 5 start part is they are open at 6am which is perfect for shift workers finishing night shift .
