Danube Orchards is a hydroponic strawberry grower based in Auckland. Every day, producing fresh, full favoured delicious strawberries that grow healthy kiwis.
About Danube Orchards
The Rakich family have been growing strawberries for 4 generations, so we know what a great strawberry should look and taste like. In the late 1920’s, based in Henderson, Jure (George) and Milovanka Rakich started growing and selling their strawberries to the local market.
When their son, Arthur and his wife Lorraine moved to their Whenuapai property, they continued to grow and supply strawberries to the Auckland market.
This inspired their son Anthony to join them in the family business. That was over 36 years ago, today Anthony Rakich and his immediate family, including dad Arthur and sister Yvonne, are still passionate about growing and supplying fresh delicious strawberries to Foodstuffs and the local community. Our outdoor hydroponics system enables us to supply you with full flavour, quality fresh strawberries. From our family to yours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We go this orchard every year for strawberries in Feb and apples in Mar. Very friendly owner and reasonable pricing. They sell other season fruit on the counter as well. They are all juicy and sweet. Highly recommended.
