★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an amazing experience! I booked a three hour, 1 on 2 class for myself and my partner together to learn the basics of pottery for the first time and try create some bowls.
Dave is a super friendly, helpful and funny guy.
I felt comfortable the whole time being at his house, it’s lovely! he has all the equipment you need, he’s good at explaining each step, answers questions, let’s you be hands on and experiment but also helps out if you’re struggling or really mess up (make your bowl collapse on itself for example). You get to pick the kind of vessel you want to make, and Dave will assist with all his knowledge to achieve that.
Dave did really well to instruct both my partner and myself while we were learning, for a three hour class of complete beginners we made three bowls each.
We also booked in and attended a glazing class to finish off our bowls, which turned out beautifully! And again Dave was super helpful, we got to see and understand more of the equipment, relating to glazing, pick colours, how to apply to different surfaces and pour or dip the glaze. So so great and so much fun!
Definitely friendly for beginners, you get his undivided attention, all his amazing equipment, and the cool ride up the cable car and greeting from the doggie! (Sorry I’ve forgotten her name)
For more advanced pottery people I’m sure there’s value in going back to experiment, bounce ideas or just enjoy Dave’s lovely company.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The precious pottery horse and foal that my darling mum had made and that I treasured sadly got knocked over and shattered quite badly. I gathered all the pieces and between my tears I thought they would never look beautiful again. But luckily I found Dave’s website and now I have them back looking as they did before. Dave has done a spectacular in job, the places he has had to mend are virtually invisible. I am so thrilled. Dave’s communication is also outstanding. He responds to messages so quickly and is flexible with drop off and pick up. I highly recommend his services. If your heart has been a little bit broken because you have damaged a treasure then Dave is the person to fix them both!
