About DC Builders
Our Founders
DC Builders is a business founded and run by two brothers – Mel Riley and Justin Riley. They both decided to leave their positions as Site Supervisors with New Zealand’s largest commercial contractors and come back to their roots in the residential construction and home design market. With their combined expertise in architectural design, construction and leadership, the DC Builders team have built up a portfolio of successful projects and a community of happy and loyal clients who would recommend our expert home building services to anyone.

The process started with several meetings with Mel to get a feel for our concept/ideas, Mel was extremely flexible fitting in these meetings and working around our normal work hours. We found his approach to be methodical and engaging, Mel had lots of ideas to achieve the look and feel of what we wanted but sticking to our tight budget. The consent process was smooth, Mel’s drawings and submission to Council was thorough and meticulous – we had very few RFIs and consent was through before we knew it. Overall we are thrilled with the choice to engage DC and will 100% engage Mel and Justin again for any future works.
