A mastering engineer that provides such attention to sound quality while maintaining our vision has been imperative to the start up of our record lable J & E RECORDS. to find a mastering engineer who can provide above and beyond the highest sonic standards, that will treat you and your project with responsiveness and respect is nearly impossible. Good luck getting the kind of communication and care from another mastering engineer, let alone someone as talented as Josh. If you want soft sweet dynamic masters, if you want competitively loud masters, or anything between he will provide it without out stepping in the way artistically. This man has the ability to recognize the sound artist artists are trying achieve and to bring it life. With the best outboard equipment and the sweetest ampex tape machine, weather you want clear,warm,cold,soft,sweet,hard,loud,dynamic or......you name it he'll do it.

โ โ โ โ โ Pure class. The studio is built soley for mastering. No distraction, just mastering. They do a great tape master with Reels included. I am mastering all my projects here moving forward, and will recommend anyone to master here if they want a quality master.

โ โ โ โ โ I had Josh master a 50's/60's style electric blues track of mine, running it through his tape machine to add a vintage vibe. We had a particular sound in mind for the song and Downbeat really nailed it. Would highly recommend

โ โ โ โ โ Downbeat will instantly lift the sound of your mix to new heights with premium analogue gear and the right ears to go with it. Josh is the man to go to for the dub & reggae sound but have also sent pop and r&b tracks that have come out pristine too. Great sound at an affordable price. Highly recommended.

โ โ โ โ โ I have owned several poly vinyl records and was never impressed with the quality...until I tried Downbeat Mastering. They use a feedback head which most poly vinyl cutting studios do not have and coupled with Josh's meticulous approach the result is fantastic sounding 10" with plenty of loudness. Recommended!
