About Duncan Dental 11th Ave
Stuart graduated from Edinburgh University in 1986 and worked in Bristol and Jersey before moving to NZ in 2014 working in Christchurch, Nelson, Greymouth and Wellington before settling in Tauranga.
He commutes to Wellington and Taupo every month, where he has orthodontic lists; he tries to avoid extractions where possible and is an advocate of functional appliances in growing adolescents, where the jaws do not match. He holds a Diploma in Orthodontics and is currently studying for his Masters in Orthodontics.
Stuart has also been trained in Fibre-Bond build ups. This allows patients to have 1 appointment for immediate , composite based, veneers, crowns, bridges and splinting of wobbly teeth at much lower cost than alternative, traditional crowns and bridges.
Stuart has taken part in mentoring young dentists throughout his career and informally mentors fellow dentists in general practice and orthodontics and is proud to be involved as a mentor on the NZDA mentoring scheme helping young NZ dentists.
Stuart is constantly looking for the best materials and products to use on patients, to give the best and longest lasting results.

My wife’s tooth ? had to extract and I was sitting next to her, I realised that I am not feeling well so wanted to go outside, As I was making my way to outside, Lisa knew that I am going to collapse, she followed me until reception and I collapsed?. She called Dr Steave and got me the energy drink. If she would not have come to see me, would have been serious matter.
She is very experienced in her own field and that is what it made her to think about my condition.

I have no hesitation what so ever in recommending Stuart and Duncan Dental to anyone who wants caring professionals to look after their dental needs. The procedure to remove was the quickest and pain free experience I've ever had. And Lisa who from the very start was the most comforting and understanding person. She was very efficient and supportive throughout the whole procedure. Highly recommend this practice.

I booked an appointment with Dr Duncan and was impressed with his practical approach and sound advice. I went in thinking I needed a filling and expecting to pay a lot of money but Dr Duncan told me the tooth could be healed with a bit of care. He could easily have just done a filling and charged me for it but he chose the genuine approach - that's how you know you have a good dentist! Would highly recommend to all.
