Should have been cautious when they refused to agree in the contract that they would build my home to the same standard as their show home. Was all but warned off the build site under the trespass act when I started to notice poor workmanship and bring it to the site supervisors attention. Finish was very poor, carpet not meeting the wall, gap in the skirting board, screw pop in the ceiling, range hood obviously hadn't been checked and had to be replaced, chop job done on the concrete to fit the garage door, tile lines on the walls did not line up with the tile lines on the floor, heated mirror did not work and it goes on. Site supervisor could not care less. Ruined my first experience of having a new house. Thanks for your reply Damian and thanks for your offer to try and make things right. This was the first and only new home I have been able to afford and the standard of build/finish and attitude of some of the staff involved in the build ruined the experience for me to the point I sold the house. I elected to go with your company because I was impressed with the standard of build and staff in your show homes. I wanted one of your homes, loved the design offered but having got into the house formed the impression that your contractors must have used their apprentices in the build. I am sure that there are a lot of satisfied customers who have your homes and I would love to have been one of them but unfortunately it was not meant to be. I wish you and your company all the best for the future and hopefully the quality control you have in place prevents any further unsatisfied customers. Just seen your latest response. I wish to correct you on a couple of matters. The house was not under construction at the time I signed the sale and purchase agreement, in fact I was given the choice of 2 vacant sections next door to each other. I travelled to Te Kauwhata with a friend and looked at both vacant sections and the decision was then made that I would take the right hand (as you looked from the road) section with the plans for the house proposed by your company. Construction of the house did not commenced until some weeks later. On two occasions I visited the site when there was no one there (on a weekend) as any person who is having a house built for them would. I admit that on the second ocassion I used the properly constructed scaffolding to climb up and examine the roof which had just been laid. I noticed that there were a lot of scratches on the metal tiles, taking the protective covering off and through to the metal. It was only after I mentioned my concerns to the building supervisor that I was warned off the site. I complied from that point on.

We have just built our first home with DW and couldn't recommend them enough. The quality of our home was amazing for the price. None of the other builders we looked at came close when it came to getting such high quality with the price range we had. Everyone who has visited comments on the high level of finishing and we even have people stopping in the street to look from the road! We definitely hope to build with DW again in the future.

Very happy with the home we built with DW Homes. The finishing was of a very high standard and the team were very professional from start to finish. I was quite surprised the build finished earlier than anticipated. We had a bit of a technical issue a week before we were due to move in but the team at DW Homes worked hard to sort it so we could get into our new home on time. Thanks again.

Just completed our new build with DW Homes, our build process was very straight forward and without any issues. The final product definately met our expectations, and the quality of build and specs included for the cost surpassed all other new home builders we researched. Overall we had a great experience building with them and would recommend to others - in particular for their service, quality of build and price.

We are so happy with our new home, from the start dealing with Nicole was great and she listened to make sure we got the things we wanted in our home but also made suggestions to ensure we kept within our budget and didn't get carried away. Amy worked so well for us managing the build and we are so grateful to everyone involved from DW homes, we couldn't be happier, so glad we chose you guys.
