★ ★ ★ ★ ★ looks a bit dark from the outside but after entering you will find a nice courtyard out the back to enjoy the afternoon sun.
A pint of nice cold Tokyo Dry was $10.
There are pokies here as well if thats your thing .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Another Iconic bar of the very few that are left in Auckland, This bar has been around since before the six o'clock swill of days long gone even surviving the late eighties penchant to pull all the old pubs down and build apartments at least 6 on tht very intersection and retail shops all in the name of progress its nice to see these old pubs still in operation I'm unsure when this historic pub was built but I'm qiessing probably 1880 maybe? The staff are attentive the pub has a cool covered court yard at the rear for smokers and those wishing to be outside, the POKIES room is modern and enticing with plenty of space to play, something of a rarerity nowadays in the city, I engourage anyone who is bored of the Auckland cassino to come up to the top of symonds and kyber pass rds there is the one and only pub tht is left on tht intersection where in the 70s early 80s there were as I remember 6 on tht intersection alone

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rooms smells of vomit, bathrooms are small and dirty, and there are only 2 showers/cubicles for the entire floor. Kitchen is barely cleaned with rubbish/leftovers everywhere in the fridge. Hallway is dark and also stinks. Extremely noisy till late in the night, bass from KTV below reverberates throughout rooms till 4am. Staff appear friendly, but are honestly pretty unhelpful. With such cheap rates ($24 per person per night), you really do get what you pay for. But you'd be much better off paying a little more to stay somewhere else than this dump.

I visited for a dim sum lunch. I’m afraid it has to be a one off experience & I cannot recommend.
The people were friendly & welcoming.
Food tasted fine & authentic but...& it’s a big butt...MSG. I’ve never had a meal with that much MSG.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome place, $6 tap beer, good pool table, quiet during day time, sports on tv.
Would recommend changing the maps listing to a bar instead of a hotel we missed this place on our first night here. Dont let the old reviews fool you this place is actually really good
