In September 2019 I requested a quote from Melanie in our local Hamilton office to paint our monies tile roof, having already had the roof cleaned, treated for moss etc. The last phase was the painting. When we had the cleaning etc done we received an estimate of about $15,000 - $20,000 for the painting and so decided to go ahead.
It took from September to 5th December to wring a quote out of theses guys (Melanie) after many, many numerous phone calls etc. When it came in, to say we were astonished is putting it mildly It was for $33,000, and no end of trying to convince the office lady (Melanie) that it was wrong, that she must have the wrong property etc could convince her.
I finally managed to get on to the Ops Manager, Brett, and to his credit he came out immediately that same day. He took one look at our roof and instantly agreed the pricing was way out! Two or three days later I received an amended quote that was at last somewhere in the region of what we were expecting and so we agree to go ahead.
Come the day - the paint arrived and it was totally the wrong colour! Brett to his credit raced to Auckland then and there and picked up the correct paint so that the contractor was not held up.
The Painter did a marvellous job. I must point out that he was not an employer of Hardys - he only contracted to them.
Overall I just cannot recommend this company to anyone contemplating their roof cleaned and painted.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Edwards Hardy have been taking care of my croncrete tile roof (House built in 1955) since I purchased my home in 2002. The service provided is punctual, competent and carried out with polite trades people. The time has come however to replace my old tiles with a new iron roof, so I will be asking them to quote for this job.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The sales person came to our property with a poor attitude from the start I suspect still carrying a grudge that he missed out on the work he quoted on last time. His first comment was that they declined to repair and paint the roof in 2013 because it was "too crumbly". This was incorrect as it was actually 2008 that the work was done. And they didn't get the work as they were too expensive as opposed to his claim of the roof was too crumbly. He couldn't answer why the roof was STILL operational (although needing a new paint job) some 14 years later. Despite his claim it was "too crumbly"... This time he said he could repair, but not paint.... Because someone else painted it.... 14 years ago... Don't waste your time with this outfit.
