About Elizabeth Cafe & Larder

Eat Street

After a late night affair on Trade me we unwittingly purchased a rather large wood and charcoal barbeque. Not quite sure what to do with it, we came up with the plan to set up a stall at the Gourmet Night Markets in Coronation Park Mount Maunganui. Each week was a new adventure and pretty smokey experience for all! One of our favourites was the sticky pork belly with slaw, followed closely by pork spare ribs and kingfish skewers. Kim Renshaw market director does a fantastic job bringing all sorts of food lovers together for a wonderful night of indulgence that's really cheap! Roll on next summer we can't wait to go back.

Stopped here on New Years day for a coffee hit. Coffee wasn't bad, but wasn't good so would have given a 3.5 rating if it was possible. Nice open cafe though and staff were friendly- could be a great cafe if only they got their coffee right

Friendly service but waited an hour for food!! I have never waited so long for such average food...toasted bread was burnt and overall the food was not what we expected or paid for...very small serving etc. Manager refused to subsidise the poor experience with a free coffee. Unfortunately will not be returning.

I have been here only once for work lunch. Food was great. Fresh squeezed juice was nice. But desserts...I can't recommend. It was very sweet even I am a sweet tooth. But food is pretty recommended =) Just think about parking. The parking fee was pretty expensive as much as Auckland.

Looking for a cafe on a Saturday, so came here, from the outside - I was unsure i picked the right place, its in a commercial area, at a bank, so not feeling hopeful. But the moment we stepped inside everything came up roses! Lovely atmosphere, fantastic service, delicious food, like absolutely delightful. Amazing range. Heaps of gluten free options that taste good! Great little space for kids too if you decide to bring one of those along with you (I left mine at home for some well deserved peace and quiet - lol) Next time we are in Tauranga - we will come back here for sure!!

Terrible big breakfast! Nothing big about it. Tiniest little hard sausage, next to no butter for toast, 1 watery mushroom and bacon so hard it hurt the teeth. Used to love this place but will not be back. What an expensive big breaky and it was absolutely terrible. Not 1 good thing to say! Spent $109 for breakfast there, 3 adults 1 baby and walked away broken and still hungry. Service lady at counter was amazing hence the star but still no one checked on us. Poor poor poor

Good environment with beautiful decor. Went there with friends and ordered something to eat. And all of them like it. The food are well presentable and delicious. Portion is not bad and the price is moderate to what i think slight pricey. Staffs are really friendly and the waitress took her time and explained whats on the menu. Really appreciated and having a wonderful the dine in brunch experience.

Our coffee was very fast, and yummy. Both egg Benedict were delicious. However the Millennial breakfast was filled with coriander and this not stated on the menu. As someone who does not like coriander I would have like to have known this as I wouldn’t have ordered it otherwise. I would recommend that this be added to the menu in the future. Thank you.

Been here and it was great but this time it was below average, duno if the chefs are new or they just don't know how to cook. The mixed grill was just boring and exspensive $25 for hard poached eggs watery fried mushrooms tatestless hashbrown, half cooked bacon one small sausage and some toast. Come on guys get a bit more creative , your charging top dollar for something you can get from McDonald's. Coffee was excellent and gets the two stars. Picture of meal sums it up
