★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Every single job this garage did for me was not done properly and lead to further issues.
I origionally went in with my Toyota Hiace on an over heat issue. 2 weeks and $3k later I got it back. It broke down soon after to find that they didn't bolt the alternator back in properly and it came loose.
They fixed my tail pipe leak for my Wof. I drove away to find my van filling up with exhaust fumes, instead of welding it fixed they just cut it off. I took it back for them to fix again for free.
I asked them to fix my rear main engine seal as it was leaking. I have just found out it is leaking again.
Everytime they were apologetic but then further issues ensued. Even if they have the best intentions, I would not recommend this garage at all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had my engine fully replaced here with a secondhand engine, or so they said. In truth, it seems they only took my engine out, replaced certain parts and put it back in (as parts of my original engine were clearly identifiable).
The invoice therefore didn’t include how many km the ‘replacement’ had done, which is essential information, especially as I was selling the vehicle. I had to chase them up for days and days to get an answer and in the end it was only an approximate figure (and – if the engine now consists of different parts of varying ages – surely a made-up figure anyway).
The invoice also featured a six-month/5000km warranty, but it was completely vague and didn’t actually explain the terms any further. Bizarrely, they didn’t even include the vehicle’s mileage at the time of the repair. They were also meant to record this with a sticker next to the engine itself but didn’t do that either.
This caused a lot of stress when oil leaks appeared a month later, as I didn’t know if I could prove how many km I’d driven since the repair (and therefore if it was still covered by the warranty). Thankfully, they agreed it would be covered.
Also, according to another mechanic who saw the work E&S had done, these oil leaks were pretty avoidable if they’d replaced the oil seals, which apparently isn’t very hard or costly when you’ve already taken the engine out/apart.
I then had to drive all the way to Taupo and back from Auckland to get these fixed on the warranty.
Once again I had to chase them up afterwards to get written confirmation that they’d fixed the leaks and didn’t receive this until days later. This was problematic because I was selling the van and needed its full service history right away. Just another unnecessary problem to be dealing with.
This is NZ. A lot of people coming to garages will be from overseas and very naive. A lot won’t know anything about vehicles. Someone’s whole life can depend on getting their vehicle fixed.
Appalling.
