About Excavat Ltd
It all started with a digger and a truck doing the odd job for mates, then we started picking up other more sizable projects and the business started to grow beyond what we ever expected it would. Its ‘snowballed’ and we have had to start to take what was little part time business a lot more seriously.
All we were doing was the ground works that other companies didn’t really want to do because they were too small, to urgent, or too hard to access. We didn’t over commit but we delivered on what we said we would and now we have multiple machines and have done loads of different projects all over the Taranaki peninsula.
We’ve got good modern gear that ensures we can get the job done! We really thrive on Jobs like:
- Residential and Commercial building foundation prep
- Site prep
- Driveway prep and laying
- effluent system installs
- track maintenance
Our promise is ‘Your project delivered on time or its free’. While there are a couple of factors outside this promise* we do everything in our power to deliver on time and in spec! Our projects however big or small are projects that we’re proud to put our name to.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Personally we have only used these blokes to dig a hole for our large 4m in ground trampoline, Joel was in and out within 3.5hrs quick to return phone calls and a gentleman to work with considering the miniscule size of the job, I have more recently observed them working on a large scale commercial building project which involved numerous contractors and H/D machinery,[Monkeytoe H.O Taranaki]
what has impressed me is the professionalism of the operators, there friendly out going demeanor and honest communication style .... all go from get go type of dudes.
