Amazing, relaxed hostel with a lot of parking spaces, free breakfast and dinner and very nice people. A big recommendation for young, social people. You can even do wwoofing there or sell fruits, to get free accomodation and food. The normal fares are quite cheap. Perfect stop to start or end your NZ travels or to sell your car

Very nice place. It is just a friendly community. Everybody is easygoing and helping in the house. I just stayed for one night. But I felt welcome just right when I arrived. I don't mind if there are no locks. You know the people in the house. And the food is good. It is not so common for a hostel.

Affordable prices, includes breakfast AND dinner, has wifi, lots of space to relax. Has Instruments to play, and a gym. Has a troup of chickens and cats to liven up the place. The only thing was the cats are not fat like in the name.

Located in one of the worst areas of Auckland. Extremely loud place. Quite dirty and lots of flies. One β€˜shower’ and one toilet for like 30+ people. Great food and vibe though! Looks like a shelter for the homeless.

Feels like more of a big share house instead of a hostel-at-your-service. So not a place for everyone, but if it is what you're after, then it's a fantastic place. Communal vegan breakfasts and dinners create a nice atmosphere. There's people staying/working (WWOOFing) and there's paying travellers. A bit far out from the city, but the people I met were great, which for me is the most important thing.

Well, the experience has been great. The staff is so lovely and helpful. This is not a place for everybody, its culture is interesting, if you are looking for a place clean and in the middle of everything this is not for you. We slept in a Cabin not really comfortable or clean, a little dusty to be honest, but despite that it was a nice experience. The location is acceptable is you want to stay out of the Downtown, there are buses and trains near so you can basically go everywhere in Auckland. I strongly suggest to stay here some days. Worth a visit.

Definitely not for everyone, the atmosphere here is best described as festival-like when it's busy. That includes queueing for the (very clean!) toilets, of which there are two. Meals are communal and free, and so is breakfast and lunch. You're allowed to pick some fruit from the gardens: the plums, tangerines, apples and blackberries are all great. There's a lot of people here which is usually not my thing but I've come to feel very comfortable in the week that I stayed here, you can really do your own thing and interact whenever you feel like it.

Arrived at the property late (had tried to contact via email and phone). Was informed on arrival that the phone didn’t work. Buildings and scenery were quirky and cool but the standard of hygiene was very poor. Stayed in a mixed dorm and fellow travellers were loud and noisy with absolutely no heed on other people in the room (which is standard for hostels I know). Very quaint with chickens poking about in the morning. Wouldn’t recommend for a solo female traveller. Might be ok for a group with fairly low expectations for accommodation and more interest in the experience!
